GRRSO Dialogue on Powered Two-Wheeler Safety – October 11-12
From 11-12 October APRSO and the Ibero American Road Safety Observatory (OISEVI) will co-host an interactive expert program on motorcycle safety for low- and middle-income Countries (LMICs) with a focus on countries for which motorcycling is the dominant road transport mode. The GRRSO Motorcycle Dialogue will bring together an unprecedented range of global experts and practitioners striving to address deaths and serious injuries resulting from motorcycle crashes. It will provide a unique opportunity to address issues relating to countries and cities where powered two-wheelers (PTW) are the predominant form of transport.A key feature of the event will be the conduct of a series of dialogues on some of the most challenging issues facing motorcycle safety practitioners and advocates.
Key global experts will directly engage with participants to identify evidence-based interventions to address the unacceptable loss of life due to motorcycle crashes in LMICs.
The APRSO Annual Meeting - October 13
The Asia-Pacific Road Safety Observatory (APRSO) is a regional forum on road safety data, policies and practices. Its mandate is to enhance the protection of human life on the roads across Asia and the Pacific through generating robust road safety data; undertaking analysis; and developing policies for road safety actions in Asia and the Pacific member countries. APRSO was established by a group of international development organizations – The World Bank (WB), Fédération Internationale de l’ Automobile (FIA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the International Transport Forum (ITF) and The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), with support from the World Health Organization (WHO) and UK Aid through the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF). ADB serves as the secretariat for APRSO.
