Creating Effective Road Safety Campaigns

Many road infrastructure projects include road safety campaigns. Very few apply best practice behavior change techniques. Even fewer are evaluated.
 
This session will explain the elements of effective road safety campaigns combining road safety promotion and police enforcement. Experts in road safety psychology and enforcement will review what works and why it works. The session includes coverage of the key ingredients for designing and implementing successful safe behavior campaigns.

Case studies from the Asia-Pacific Region will be used to illustrate how well-designed campaigns can enhance the safety provided by new and upgraded roads. Our experts will also cover road safety campaign approaches that have not proven to be effective explaining some of the common faults that are found to occur in campaign design.
