CAREC Road Safety Engineering – Pedestrian Safety Online Workshop

Agenda

The Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Transport Secretariat will deliver a five-module workshop on Pedestrian Safety from 14 to 28 June 2022. The workshop will be conducted under the framework of the CAREC Program – a regional cooperation program of 11 developing member countries supported by ADB and other development partners. The detailed schedule of the workshop is reflected in the attached agenda.

This workshop will present a strategic approach to managing pedestrian safety, in line with the “Safe System” principles. Participants will understand how to design urban and intercity road infrastructure for the comfort, convenience, and safety of pedestrians. The workshop will introduce international best practices and engineering solutions for managing vehicle speed and enhancing pedestrian safety and convenience. Participants will also benefit from discussing case studies from other CAREC member countries, which will demonstrate challenges and success stories in implementing initiatives for improving pedestrian safety.
